At soundsphat.com, we are proud to present something truly special and unprecedented: the first-ever sampled library of a RIGA Piano — a rare upright instrument with deep roots in Eastern European musical history. Built in Riga, Latvia, between the 1960s and 1991, these pianos were limited to around 20'000 units and distributed exclusively within the former USSR.
THE RIGA PIANO
The Riga Piano is more than a traditional sample library. It combines deep realism with modern flexibility, giving you full control over both performance and sound design.
At its core, the instrument features 5 dynamic layers and 3 round robins, with fully adjustable behavior directly in the interface—allowing you to tailor the response and realism to your playing style.

A Piano — Reimagined
You can shape the spatial character of the piano using three microphone positions (Close, Overhead, Room Far), alongside an additional compressed mic perspective for more modern, punchy tones and enhanced pedal resonance.
To fit different production styles, the instrument includes three distinct mixdown sets.
Authenticity can be further enhanced with release triggers and pedal noise, while additional controls let you switch between lid open and lid closed positions to shape the tonal response.
